Hayriye Unal’s research focuses on nanomaterials for food safety applications. Her work involves the design and application of antimicrobial/antibiofilm nano materials and surfaces, controlled release systems for natural antimicrobial agents, light-activated functional surfaces and active packaging materials extending the shelf life of food products.
